Tower Semiconductors Clean Room
Tower Semiconductors sought to enhance their fabrication lines by adding real-time KPI and performance displays to improve equipment efficiency and operator effectiveness.
Because the environment is a clean room, only fanless, sealed hardware can be used, and the displays are ceiling-mounted where access is limited, so the solution needed to operate reliably with minimal maintenance.
Challenge
Tower Semiconductors uses the NextMove FPS system to track the status of each fabrication line in real time. To boost responsiveness and throughput, they sought to install a dedicated display at each of their 50+ lines, enabling production managers to instantly see when machines finish their cycles and take action immediately to keep workflows moving efficiently.
However, all hardware placed inside the clean room must be fanless and emit no particulates, and the displays are mounted high above the equipment, making physical access difficult.
This required a reliable, low-maintenance solution that could run entirely on-premises and be centrally managed without technicians needing to enter the clean room.
Solution: MAWi Link
Tower Semiconductors deploys MAWi Link to centrally manage and broadcast real-time dashboards across dozens of displays located throughout the clean room. Each display is connected to a MAWi Player, a compact Android-based device with no moving parts, making it approved for clean room conditions where airflow, dust, and vibration considerations are critical.
The MAWi management console allows the operations and IT teams to manage all content from a single browser-based interface. The system is installed entirely on-premises, ensuring full data security and compliance with internal IT governance.

The Next Stage
Following the successful deployment in the main clean room, Tower Semiconductors is now planning to expand the MAWi Link system to additional FABs on-site, as well as to administrative and engineering areas. This will allow teams outside the clean room—such as production planning, shift supervisors, and management—to view the same real-time KPI dashboards and machine statuses. The expansion will support broader coordination across departments, create shared visibility into output and performance targets, and further streamline communication between the FAB floor and operational decision-makers.
